Grams per square metre are useful when comparing promotional T-shirts, but the number is only one part of the specification.
Read GSM correctly
GSM measures fabric mass per square metre, not the weight of the whole garment. Two shirts at the same GSM can feel different because yarn, knit construction, finishing and fit differ. The supplied promotional catalogue includes single-jersey examples around 140–190 g/m²; this is a starting range, not a universal recommendation.
Match the setting
For a warm indoor event, comfort and breathability may matter more than a substantial handfeel. For a reusable team garment, opacity, shape retention and compatibility with frequent washing deserve attention. Evaluate the chosen colour too: a light shade may behave differently from a dark one.
Test the decoration
Print coverage changes the feel of the garment. A large artwork can alter drape or breathability even on a light fabric. Request a decorated sample when the artwork is extensive, and check the reverse of embroidery for wearer comfort.
Specify the whole product
Include fabric composition, GSM, garment measurements, tolerances, colour references and care instructions in the brief. Approve the sample rather than buying on GSM alone. Explore the EOPROMOS T-shirt range to begin a specification that suits your audience.
